NASHVILLE, Tenn. – New Haven Men's Basketball wrapped up its non-conference schedule in the Music City on Monday night. The Blue & Gold suffered a 96-53 loss to #11 Vanderbilt, sending it into conference play with a 5-8 overall record.
Jabri Fitzpatrick (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) paced New Haven with 12 points in 36 minutes. He was the only Charger to finish in double digits, as
Stefano Faloppa (Portogruaro, Italy/Holy Cross Prep) (eight) and
Kheni Briggs (Kennapolis, N.C./The Burlington School) (seven) slotted in behind the guard.
Andre Pasha's (Syracuse, N.Y./Syracuse Academy of Science) five rebounds led the team,
Teshaun Steele's (Worcester, Mass./Darrow School) four were right behind him.
Tristan Burth (Bronx, N.Y./Bridgeport Preparatory School) also pulled down three misses. Pasha also dished out a team-high three assists, while Fitzpatrick and Briggs each finished with a pair.
Vanderbilt shot extremely well from all over in the game. It finished 57.8% (37-64) from the floor, 45.8% (11-24) from long distance, and 91.7% (11-12) from the free-throw line. It also blocked nine of New Haven's shot attempts, hurting the Chargers chances of getting into a rhythm offensively.
