ALBANY, N.Y. – New Haven Women's Basketball suffered a x-x setback on Wednesday night on the road as the program battled the Siena University Saints.
Aniya McDonald-Perry (Middletown, Conn./Putnam Science Academy) registered her third double double of the season in the loss, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She continued to wreak havoc on the defensive side of the ball, coming away with three steals again, the fifth time this season she has finished a game with three or more steals.
A bad shooting night doomed the Chargers, as New Haven shot just 32.8% (19-58) from the field and 17.6% (3-17) from distance. The Chargers also only converted on 13 of their 23 free-throw attempts (56.5%).
Head Coach
Debbie Buff, making her long-awaited return to the Albany area, said "We had a bad shooting night and did not take care of the ball. First bad game we played all season. Siena played with a lot of intensity. We are young and need to learn and need to get better for the next game. First time all year our youth showed."
New Haven returns to action on Saturday, December 6, at home against UMass Lowell. Opening tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from The Hazell Center.
