WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Women's Basketball fell to UMass Lowell on Saturday afternoon at home 60-43.
New Haven struggled to generate offense matching up against a strong River Hawks defensive team. 24 turnovers played a large role in the Chargers being unable to get into a rhythm. The Blue & Gold forced 18 turnovers at the other end of the court, with
Aniya McDonald-Perry (Middletown, Conn./Putnam Science Academy) registering three steals.
McDonald-Perry and
Lindsay Hogan (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) each finished with eight points to lead the Chargers. McDonald-Perry's 10 rebounds was a game-high. The senior continues to be one of the top rebounders and defensive threats in the NEC.
UMass Lowell's 21 points off turnovers, 16 points in the paint, and nine second-chance points were keys to victory.
New Haven returns to the court on Monday, Dec. 8 against Yale University. Tipoff from The Hazell Center is slated for 5:30 p.m.
