WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Women's Basketball hosted its neighbor, Yale University, on Monday night, at home. The Blue & Gold suffered a 63-49 loss at The Hazell Center.
Another double-double from
Aniya McDonald-Perry (Middletown, Conn./Putnam Science Academy) was not enough for New Haven, as it shot just 20.0% (4-20) from three-point range, and 28.3% (17-60) overall. McDonald-Perry has now gathered four double-doubles this season. Her 14 points are a season high, as is the six free throws she made.
Lindsay Hogan (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) had a strong game for the Chargers, chipping in nine points and seven rebounds in 39 minutes of work.
Katelyn Simpson (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin), in her first start since Nov. 15 against Boston University, finished with a season high in minutes (30) and rebounds (eight).
Yale's Ciniya Moore finished with a game-high 23 points.
Renelle Grannum (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) had five assists for New Haven, the contest's top mark.
The Bulldogs took it to New Haven in the paint, holding a 36-24 advantage. The game was also dominated by both teams' starters, as both benches combined for 12 points (New Haven had seven to Yale's five).
New Haven returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 17, as it hosts St. John's University. The final game before the holiday break will get underway at 7:00 p.m.
