Schenk Leads the way As Chargers Fall Short on The Road

Kutztown, Pa.- Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) leads the Chargers in goals as the drop they drop a road contest to ranked Kutztown. The University of New Haven women's lacrosse fall to 2-2 on the season
 
During spring break the Chargers took a trip to # 12 ranked Kutztown on Monday afternoon. Lead by senior Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug). Schenk had a team high in goals with a hat trick. Bringing her season total to 14 a team high. The first half was a tightly contested affair, with the team's trading goals and ending the second quarter tied at 5-5. New Haven's Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) led the Chargers' offense, Summer Castiglione (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) and Lindsey Belmonte (Yaphank, N.Y./Bellport) also contributed to the scoreboard, keeping the Chargers in the game.
 
Despite the loss, New Haven showed resilience, with Helena Dunwoody (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich) scoring a player-up goal in the fourth quarter. The Chargers' offense was further bolstered by Castiglione's second goal of the game, but it wasn't enough to overcome Kutztown's lead.
 
Up next for the Blue and Gold is they travel back to Pennsylvania to play Millersville opening draw scheduled for 12 PM.
