Chargers Extend Their Win Streak

Miami Shores, Fla.- Offensive firepower helps New Haven to victory. This victory improves New Haven's record to 5-3 on the season and. The Chargers will look to build on this momentum as they continue their Florida road trip for one more day.

The Chargers' bats came alive in the third inning with a seven-run explosion, highlighted by Cole Maucere's (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) triple and home run. Marcere finished the night with three runs scored and two hits, driving in a key RBI. Tyler Wells (Danville, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy) also shined, contributing two hits, two RBIs, and scoring three runs while stealing two bases. Cam McGugan (Mystic, Conn./Fitch) was instrumental with four RBIs on two hits, including a clutch performance late in the game.Matt McIntire (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) added to the excitement with a pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning, extending the Chargers' lead during a critical moment. In total, New Haven tallied 13 hits and drew nine walks, showcasing patience and power at the plate.

Despite some challenges on the mound early in the game, New Haven's bullpen stepped up when it mattered most. Jake Zenger (Lawrence, Kan./Lawrence Free State) earned his first win of the season with 2.2 innings of one-hit relief, keeping Barry's potent offense at bay. Jafar Vohra (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) closed out the game with a perfect ninth inning to secure his second save of the season.
 
Chargers have an off-day Tuesday and finish their Florida trip on Wednesday against Georgian Court first pitch is schedule for 10 AM.
