Scoring came on all cylinders today freshman
Sophia Minnion (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) led the charge with 4 goals. Minnion in her young career in the Blue and Gold had her career high.
Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) and
Gianna Caprioli (Clinton Corners, N.Y./Franklin Delano Roosevelt) added two themselves.
Emma Cretella (Cheshire, Conn./St. Paul Catholic),
Sam Maucere (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon),
Summer Castiglione (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial), and
Lindsey Belmonte (Yaphank, N.Y./Bellport) added one goal apiece.

The Chargers wasted no time establishing their dominance, jumping out to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter. They then exploded for five unanswered goals in the second quarter, effectively putting the game out of reach. Â New Haven's defense was equally impressive, holding Saint Michael's to just two goals for the entire game.

Up next for the Chargers is a quick turnaround as they play their final nonconference game of the season and welcome Dominican University for a 6:30 opening draw.
