MANSFIELD, MASS – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its yearly end-of-season award winners on Thursday afternoon. University of New Haven Chargers freshman Sofia Campo (Pereira, Colombia) took home Rookie of the Year honors while Wynter Flores (San Antonio, Texas/Incarnate Word) and Erin Earl (London, England/Saffron Walden County Day) were both named to the All-Conference Teams on the women's side. Hermann Gavilan was named All-Conference on the men's side.
Campo won NE10 Rookie of the Week following a week five performance where she finished 29th overall and third among New Haven's athletes at Pawley's Island Beach Bash.
Campo repeated as Rookie of the Week after she was second on the player leaderboard at the Hartford Hawks Women's Spring Invitational, carding a 10-over (150) for the tournament. Her best round came in the second round, as she shot a three-over (73). New Haven finished third as a team.
Flores was named First-Team All NE10 for the second-straight year following her transfer from Texas Lutheran. She finished 14th and 12th overall, respectively, in a strong close to the season at the Battle at Panther Bay on April 21-22 and Hartford Spring Invitational from April 26-27.
Earl finished eighth overall in the Hartford Spring Invitational and tied for ninth with Campo at the Battle of Panther Bay.
On the men's side, Gavilan was named to the All-Northeast-10 Second Team following a season that saw him participate in the National Tournament at Whispering Woods Golf Club from May 8-10. Gavilan placed tied for 28th overall in the tournament.
