WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Soccer opened up its home schedule with a 0-0 draw with George Washington University on Saturday night at Kathy Zolad Stadium.
New Haven had its best chances in the final minute, but was just unable to find the back of the net.
Alessandro Bizzini (Imola Bologna, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Valeriani) had another strong game in net for the Blue & Gold, denying all five shots from the Revolutionaries. Bizzini has now turned away 17 of 18 shots he's faced this season, including the last 15 against him.
Guilherme Meira (Alfredo Chaves, Brazil/Clotilde Rato) paced the Chargers with three shots on goal, including a laser off the bar in the early minutes.
The Blue & Gold will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in Hamden, Conn., as they visit Quinnipiac University. Opening kickoff is slated for 4:00 p.m.
