ALBANY, N.Y. – New Haven Field Hockey traveled south to the Empire State for a matchup with the University at Albany Great Danes. UAlbany defended its home turf with a 10-0 win.
The Great Danes scored a pair of goals in the first three quarters, going ahead 6-0. They added four more in the fourth to finish with a double-digit margin of victory.
Anne Marie Martin (Louisville, Ky.) started the game in net for New Haven. She allowed three goals on six shots in the first 22:56 of play before being relieved by
Cara Lambert (Sutton, Mass./Sutton Memorial). Lambert played from there until the end of the third quarter, stopping four of the seven shots she faced.
Rae Kline (Brookline, N.H./Hollis Brookline) played the final frame for the Blue 7 Gold, denying one shot on goal.
New Haven heads to the City of Brotherly Love on Friday, Sept. 5, as it visits the Explorers of La Salle University. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
