WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Basketball collected its first win at home in conference since joining the NEC. The Blue & Gold opened up a 27-14 lead at halftime before closing out a 10-point win, 65-55.
Andre Pasha (Syracuse, N.Y./Syracuse Academy of Science) led the way with a 16-point performance, his third consecutive game with double-digit scoring numbers.
Jabri Fitzpatrick (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) (14) and
Najimi George (Bridgeport, Conn./Kolbe Cathedral) (11) both finished in double figures as well for the Chargers. Fitzpatrick played the role of the main set up man, finishing with five assists.
Stefano Faloppa's (Portogruaro, Italy/Holy Cross Prep) 11 rebounds were tied for the most in the game.
New Haven owned the paint, outscoring the Knights 32-18 in the lane. It also shot a very good 54.8% (23-42) from the field and 35.7% (5-14) from distance. Pasha (6-8, 2-3) and Fitzpatrick (4-8, 2-3) both were efficient, shooting at or over 50% for the game.
New Haven will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 17, as it hosts Wagner College. The opening tip between the Seahawks and Chargers is set for 1:00 p.m.
