LORETTO, Pa. – New Haven Men's Basketball wrapped up its Western Pennsylvania weekend with an 81-70 win at St. Francis on Saturday night.
Kheni Briggs (Kennapolis, N.C./The Burlington School) dropped a career-high 29 points in the win.
In addition to Briggs' 29,
Jabri Fitzpatrick (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) poured in 19,
Andre Pasha (Syracuse, N.Y./Syracuse Academy of Science) had 14, and
Najimi George (Bridgeport, Conn./Kolbe Cathedral) contributed 10. The starting five combined for 79 of New Haven's 81 points.
For the game, New Haven shot 52.1% (25-48) from the field and 50.0% (10-20) from deep. Briggs led the way, converting on five of his seven attempts from three-point range. Fitzpatrick was good on both of his attempts from downtown. Pasha (two) and
Stefano Faloppa (Portogruaro, Italy/Holy Cross Prep) (one) accounted for the other three.
George led the effort on the glass for the Blue & Gold, pulling down eight boards. Fitzpatrick and Pasha each collected six rebounds, and Faloppa had three of the team's 32. In the assist department, George played the primary set-up role, finishing with four apples. Pasha added three and Fitzpatrick finished with a pair.
New Haven visits NEC Preseason favorite LIU on Thursday, Feb. 5. Opening tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
