Hogan Hits Game Winner on Senior Day to Lift New Haven over St. Francis

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Women's Basketball closed out the weekend with a 57-56 win on Saturday night over St. Francis University. Lindsay Hogan (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) and Aniya McDonald-Perry (Middletown, Conn./Putnam Science Academy) led the way for the Blue & Gold in the Senior Day win.

McDonald-Perry's double double (12 points, 11 rebounds) was her eighth of the season. The transfer from St. Rose led the Chargers in scoring and finished with three steals. Hogan entered the fourth quarter in foul trouble following a first half in which she only scored two points. Down the stretch, she found her game and scored the game-winning put-back layup with under 10 seconds remaining.

Schuyler Coles (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) finished with 11 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 21 minutes of work coming off the bench. The sophomore guard finished in double digits for the first time in conference play. Jasmine McKay (West Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) was the only other Charger in double figures, finishing with 10 points.

New Haven got a solid contribution from its bench as it outgained St. Francis, 21-13. The Blue & Gold also held the edge in points in the paint, 26-24, and in points off turnovers, 15-11.

"So very happy for our two seniors in Aniya and Lindsay. I could not be happier for them. The team really wanted this for them. I have been blessed to have coached them," Debbie Buff said following the win.

New Haven will host LIU on Thursday, Feb. 5. Opening tipoff is slated for 6:00 p.m. from The Hazell Center.
