Before New Haven: Transferred to New Haven from fellow NE10 school Pace University where he was a member of the Setters football team for two seasons but did not see game action.

High School: Played four seasons of varsity football for the Eagles of Trumbull High School … Served as a team captain during his senior season … Named Second-Team All-State by the New Haven Register … Tabbed to Walter Camp All-State Second Team …  First-Team All-FCAIC selection. 

Personal: Son of Maureen and John Delfino … Has four older siblings, brothers John Jr., Michael and Brian and sister Erica … Two of his brothers, John and Michael played football for Nichols College … Majoring in health sciences.
