Zack Tower recently completed his third season as an assistant with the Chargers in 2022. Tower played collegiately at both UMass Lowell and Franklin Pierce, before playing a professional season with the New Hampshire Wild of the Empire Professional Baseball League.
During his senior year with FPU in 2018, Tower tied for fourth in the Northeast-10 with eight home runs, tied for 14th with 18 extra base hits, scored 28 runs and knocked in 31. He also made three appearances on the mound, striking out four over three innings of work.
During the summer, Tower played four seasons in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League for the Pittsfield Suns (2014), Worcester Bravehearts (2015-2016) and the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (2017). He was named the FCBL MVP in both 2015 and 2017, and helped lead Worcester to the league title in 2015. He led his teams in home runs and doubles during each of those four seasons, including a 2017 season with Wachusett where he clubbed 11 doubles, 18 home runs, 50 RBI and a .676 slugging pct.
After signing professionally, Tower made six appearances, striking out seven over 12 innings of work out of the bullpen for the Wild.
Tower graduated from Franklin Pierce in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in sports management.
