Maite Mendizabal joined Robin Salters’ staff in 2012. Also the head coach at Bunnell High School, she will serve as a volunteer assistant coach for the Chargers this fall.

Mendizabal played collegiately for four seasons at Central Connecticut State University. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health Promotion and earned a Master’s Degree in the Management of Sports Industries from New Haven.

A native of Stratford, Conn., Mendizabal won three Class LL State Championships as a student-athlete at Bunnell. She was a two-time all-state honoree for the Bulldogs, who posted a 95-5 record during her scholastic career.
