Yamari Padilla Collazo

Yamari Padilla Collazo returns to the New Haven women’s volleyball staff as an assistant coach for the 2014 season. Padilla Collazo previously served as an assistant at New Haven from 2010-12.
 
Padilla Collazo’s first stint with the Chargers included tenure as both a graduate assistant and assistant coach – a stretch that included three NCAA postseason appearances, two Northeast-10 Conference Championships, three NE-10 Regular Season Championships and an NCAA Division II East Region Championship and trip to the National Quarterfinals in 2012.
 
Prior to coming to New Haven, Padilla Collazo played two seasons at Tennessee State, ranking eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference in assists per set in 2009. She racked up 1,624 assists in her two-year career with the Tigers, dishing out at least 40 assists in nine matches with a career best of 58 helpers.
 
A native of Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Padilla Collazo spent two seasons after high school at Hillsborough Community College, where she ranked third nationally in the NJCAA with 12.71 assists per set.

Padilla Collazo graduated from Tennessee State in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Criminal Justice and holds a Master of Science in Forensic Science from New Haven.
