Game One
The Chargers got on the board in the first inning and never looked back en route to a 12-0 win. Through the five innings, the Chargers accumulated 13 hits.

UNH added three runs off of three hits with some help from three Purple Knight errors in  the bottom of the first inning. After Chelsea Harold (Oxford, Conn./Seymour ) got on base from a catching error on the first basemen, Christina Gelardi (Derby, Conn./Derby) singled to right field. Downs followed with a single to right that brought in Harold for the first run of the evening. Gelardi scored off an out with Walter recording an RBI, while Downs also scored on an error.

The Chargers continued to roll with four more runs in the second. With bases loaded, Gelardi collected an infield single that drove in Courtney Garland (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow ). Still with bases loaded, Downs singled through the left side that brought in two more base runners across the plate. The final run of the inning was scored by Downs from an out with Walter tallying the RBI.

The third inning proved to New Haven's more explosive at-bat of the game. The Chargers added five more runs on six hits. The first run was brought in when Garland drove in Cruz off a single down the left field line. A two-run double from Downs followed by a two-run single from Walter capped off the inning.

Gleason tossed the one-hitter. She struck out nine, while allowing no walks.

Downs led the Chargers at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with 5 RBIs, while Gelardi also went 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Game Two
New Haven once again relied on three big innings to end the game in five. Lead-off hitter, Harold started the game off with a triple. Harold was immediately brought in with an out - Gelardi tallied the RBI. Gleason singled up the middle and Walter brought her home on a double to left center.

The Chargers added two more the following stanza. UNH led the inning off with another triple- this time from Shannon Angehr (Levittown, N.Y./Division Avenue ). Amy Nepi (New Castle, Del./St. Elizabeth ) singled through the left side to bring in Angehr.

UNH saved the best for last doubling up their lead to go ahead 8-0. Gleason doubled to start the inning. After two outs, freshmen Lucy Francisco (Lawrence, Mass./Lawrence ) singled up the middle to add the first run of the inning. The final three runs were brought in from back-to-back home runs from Angehr and Nepi. Angehr's was a two-run shot over the left field fence, while Nepi's also fell over the fence in left field.

Gleason pitched all five innings, allowing no hits, while striking out eight - including her 1,000th which was tallied in the Purple Knights final at-bat.

The Chargers are headed to New Hampshire for the final regular season road trip. With four games left, UNH has their eyes on the NE-10 regular season title in which they need just two more wins to guarantee sole ownership of the title. First up is St. Anselm on Saturday and Southern New Hampshire on Sunday. Both doubleheaders are set for noon.
