WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven softball team earned the top seed in the 2010 NCAA Division II East Region Championship tournament and are set to host the tournament this weekend. The Chargers open the tournament on Friday, May 14 at 1 p.m. against Georgian Court University.

The tournament will take place from Friday to Sunday at the UNH Softball Field. This year marks the first time the Chargers earned the top seed and ability to host. The winner of this weekend's four-team double elimination tournament will advance to the Super Regional best-of-three series against the winner of the other East Region bracket, which include Dowling, C.W. Post, Molloy and Dominican.

Tickets for each day of the tournament at $8 for adults, $5 for student with ID, $5 for senior citizens and $2 for children.
