WEST HAVEN, Conn. - University of New Haven sophomore baseball student-athlete Ryan Brockett (Guilford, Conn./Guilford ) has been named to the 2010 Rawlings East Region Gold Glove Team at shortstop.

The anchor of Division II's seventh ranked defense, Brockett boasted a .964 fielding percentage with a team-high 31 double plays. The sophomore also registered 142 assists and 70 putouts with just eight errors. At the plate, Brockett batted .297 with 44 hits, 31 runs and 24 RBI. He was also tied for second on the team with 15 stolen bases.

The Chargers finished the 2010 season with a 31-15 overall record in their first NCAA Division II Baseball Championship appearance since 2006.
