The first half featured a close match that never saw a lead of more than five points from either team. After the intermission, the two teams went back and forth, exchanging baskets until the score was tied up at 36-36. However, behind the hot hands of Jeremy Williams and Adkins, the Chargers boasted off an 18-8 run – taking a double-digit lead, 54-44, with 8:14 remaining in the game.

A change in momentum was in store over the next five minutes of play, as the Panthers cut their deficit down to just three points. Nonetheless, Adkins and Williams came to the rescue and accounted for a 6-0 run, granting the Chargers a nine point lead with two minutes left in regulation. Adkins connected on an old-fashioned three-point play and Williams drained a deep shot from behind the arc during the span.

Adelphi made one last surge down the stretch, but UNH knocked down its free-throws to hold on for the victory. Adkins, Williams and Krystian Foriest made their ways to the line in the closing minutes, calmly knocking down free-throws to solidify the victory.

Jamerson finished with a team-high 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting despite fouling out with 3:11 showing on the clock. He also knocked down six free-throws and dished out three assists on the night. Williams fared well in the second half, as the sophomore guard finished with 18 points, five rebounds and three assists.
