Women's Track and Field Post Results at Day Two Giegengack Invitational

RESULTS

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's track and field team competed at the second day of the Giegengack Invitational hosted by Yale University on Saturday. Two Chargers school records fell at the meet, including a first place finish by Tiara Mitchell (Westbury, N.Y./Old Westbury) in the triple jump.

Mitchell won the triple jump with a new record distance of 11.68 meters, while Briana Conyers placed second with a distance of 11.28 meters. Conyers also placed 11th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.53 seconds and 10th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.27 seconds. Freshman (Woodbridge Township, N.J./John F. Kennedy Memorial)Ivy Watts# finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.99.

Alesha Chu Foo (Bridgeport, Conn./Bunnell) came in sixth place in the triple jump with a distance of 10.77 meters, while Alissa Howell (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) added a seventh place finish at 10.54 meters. Monica Yanez (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) was the second Charger to break a school record with an eighth place finish in the 60-meter hurdles.

Brittany Bussiere placed eighth in the shot put with a throw of 10.17 meters. In the distance events, Dominique Stasulli (Shenandoah, Pa./Shenandoah) placed seventh in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:03.46 and Alejandra Cortez (Riverside, Calif./Norte Vista) finished in seventh place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:29.16.

The distance medley relay team finished in sixth place with a time of 13:04.15.
