Game One
In the opening game, the Chargers were the first to get on the scoreboard. In the top of the second inning, Brendon Buckley (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) started a two-out rally with a single to left field. Chris DeMorais (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) when advanced Buckley to third on a single down the left field line, while Joe Romanelli (Baldwin, N.Y./Holy Trinity) drove in the Chargers' go-ahead run with a single to center field. Stephen Clout (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Eastern) hit the fourth-straight single, but DeMorais was thrown out at home to end the inning on the same play.

The Sailfish would answer in the bottom of the third inning. Palm Beach Atlantic scored two runs off two hits and one UNH error to take a 2-1 lead. The Sailfish added two unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 4-1 lead. New Haven could not manage a base runner in the sixth and seventh innings and suffered its first loss of 2012.

Sophomore pitcher, John Melville (Ulster Park, N.Y./Kingston) suffered the loss after four full innings on Saturday. He faced 18 batters, struckout three and allowed four hits. Joey Royer (Westbrook, Maine/Cheverus) and Pat Simone (Branford, Conn./Branford) each pitched one inning down the stretch and did not allow an earned run.

Game Two
The Chargers left three runners on base in the first three innings of the second game. The Sailfish stranded one runner on base in each of the first two innings, while the bottom of the third came and they tallied three runs. Palm Beach Atlantic recorded three hits and the Chargers one error as the Sailfish took a 3-0 lead.

Palm Beach Atlantic added one in the bottom of the six inning to take a 4-0 lead, while the Chargers managed base runners in each of the final two innings. In the seventh inning, Zach Collett (Westbrook, Maine/Westbrook) singled with two outs, but it was again too late for a UNH rally.
