WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The fourth seeded University of New Haven baseball team continues its quest for the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Championship this weekend in the double elimination portion of the tournament. The location and schedule of the championship has changed throughout the week and will now be played at two different locations. On Friday, the three games will be played in Rindge, N.H. at Franklin Pierce University, while the remaining games on Saturday and Sunday will be hosted in Manchester, N.H. on the campus of Saint Anselm College.
Six, seven if necessary, games will be played over the three day tournament to determine the NE-10's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship tournament. The Chargers get the tournament underway with game five on Friday, May 11 at 12 p.m. at Franklin Pierce University. The winner will advance to game eight on Saturday in Manchester, N.H. at 12 p.m. (noon), while the loser will play an elimination game Friday in Rindge, N.H. at approximately 7 p.m. See the complete up-to-date tournament schedule below.
With a 25-17-1 overall mark, New Haven enters the tournament as the lowest seed, after upsetting Southwest Division No. 1 seed Pace University in the opening round on Tuesday. Franklin Pierce, the second seed from the Northeast Division, defeated Stonehill in the opening round.
