SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - The University of New Haven baseball team earned the fourth seed in the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division Baseball Championship Tournament which was announced by the conference office on Sunday. The conference schedule came to a close on Sunday and with an 11-9-1 division record, the Chargers came in just ahead of Adelphi University. New Haven will travel to first seeded Pace University for its first round single-elimination game on Tuesday, May 8. Game time was changed to 1:15 p.m. due to anticipated rain in the forecast. This season marks the fourth-straight year that UNH has earned a bid into the NE-10 tournament. The Charger’s last NCAA Regional appearance was in 2010.

Saint Anselm claimed the top seed in the Northeast Division, followed by second seeded Franklin Pierce. Stonehill claimed the third seed, followed by Bentley. Pace topped the Southwest Division as the first seed, followed by Le Moyne and Southern Connecticut. The four winning teams from Tuesday's single elimination round will advance to the championship tournament (double elimination) on Friday, May 11 through Sunday, May 13 at the seed of the highest remaining Northeast Division team.
