BOX SCORE TUCSON, Ariz. – Freshman
Brittany Scott (Buena, N.J./Buena Regional) drove in the game-winning run in the top of the fifth inning as the University of New Haven softball team defeating Regis University (Colo.) 4-3 Friday afternoon at the NFCA Div. II Leadoff Classic in Tucson, Ariz. With the win, the Chargers split their two games on opening day. The Rangers dropped to 0-7 on the season.
Scott tallied the game-winning RBI, while
Brooke Fisher (Erial, N.J./Camden Catholic) scored the go-ahead run. Senior
Micah Stonesifer (Archer City, Texas/Archer City / Vernon College) recorded her first win of the season, pitching in relief.

New Haven returns to action at the NFCA Div. II Leadoff Classic on Saturday with another two games. At 1 p.m. (eastern) the Chargers take on No. 22 Abilene Christian University. The Chargers' final game of the round-robin portion of the tournament is against Nova Southeastern University at 5 p.m. (eastern).
