The Chargers took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third off a Brittany Scott (Buena, N.J./Buena Regional) RBI-single to left center. Brooke Fisher (Erial, N.J./Camden Catholic) then hit a three-RBI home run to right center to give the Chargers a 5-1 lead in the third.

Now trailing 9-6, the Chargers scored more run in the top of the seventh off a Francisco RBI double down the left field line. A fly out with two runners on base ended the inning and the Greyhounds pulled off the come-from-behind victory.

Gelardi went 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Francisco went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Micah Stonesifer (Archer City, Texas/Archer City / Vernon College), who entered the game in relief, suffered the loss for New Haven and dropped to 15-6 on the season. Brittany Scott (Buena, N.J./Buena Regional) opened the game in the first four innings and allowed five hits, while Stonesifer went the final two innings and allowed two hits.

Assumption scored the first run of game two in the bottom of the first inning, after the Chargers were retired in order in the top of the inning. The Greyhounds plated one run off one hit, but left the bases loaded in the first.

Scott then evened the score for UNH and Assumption with a RBI bunt-single in the top of the second. The Chargers tallied three hits and left two runners on base in the second. New Haven went on to retire the side in the second and the game remained knotted at 1-1.

The Chargers exploded with six runs off six hits in the top of the third to take a 7-1 lead. Lindsey Couturier (Dighton, Mass./Dighton Rehoboth Regional) hit a two-RBI double to right center to give UNH its first lead. Keri Tricinelli (Brick, N.J./Monsignor Donovan), Francisco, Scott and Fisher all added RBI hits in the innings to help open a six run lead.

The Greyhounds' final runs of the afternoon came in the bottom of the fourth. Assumption strung together two hits and cut the New Haven lead back to five, 9-4.
