UNH has won 20 or more games in six consecutive seasons and 24 times since 1985. Dominican drops to 14-16.
Palase was one of three New Haven student-athletes also win

Jess Spivey (Holland, Pa./Council Rock) also picking up RBI.

Scott totaled nine innings over the two games, scattering 10 hits, two walks and two earned runs in the twin bill. She improves to 6-1 with the pair of victories. King, also a freshman hurler for New Haven, turned in three innings of hitless relief with four strikeouts to register the first two saves of her collegiate career.
Game 1
It took a seventh-inning rally for New Haven to take the opening game Dominican started the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the second inning and, despite a UNH run in the next half-inning on a Gelardi double and Palase RBI single, the home team added a third tally in the fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead into the final frame.
Meghan Chamoff (Roslyn Heights, N.Y./Herricks) led off the seventh with a single, and
Courtney Reed (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) reached on an error. A second two-bagger from Gelardi cut the deficit to 3-2 before Palase followed with another RBI base-hit to knot the score at 3-3. An error allowed the go-ahead run to cross the plate as Couturier registered the RBI on a Dominican fielding miscue, and the margin then moved to 5-3 on a sacrifice fly by Spivey.
After a single to lead off the bottom of the seventh for the home team, King entered in relief and fanned two batters as a part of a hitless frame to close the door on the 5-3 victory.
Game 2
After three zeroes on the scoreboard each way, it was New Haven that struck first in the nightcap with two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Palase and Dianno had the RBI in an inning that also featured a double and stolen base for Francisco and a Scott stolen bag. UNH extended its lead to 3-0 on a Gelardi RBI hit to score Dianno in the fifth inning.
After Dominican trimmed the deficit to 3-2 with a sixth-inning home run, King entered to stifle the bats and drive home an insurance run with a sacrifice fly to complete the sweep with a 4-2 triumph.
The Chargers start a stretch of 19 games against Northeast-10 Southwest Division foes on Wednesday with a visit from Pace. The doubleheader from the UNH Softball Field will begin at 3 p.m.
