WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven women's volleyball team climbed back from two sets down to force a fifth frame with Bentley on Saturday afternoon at Charger Gymnasium, but the visiting Falcons claimed the deciding set to escape with a 3-2 victory. Three Chargers posted double-doubles in Northeast-10 Conference outing.

The loss snaps a 14-match winning streak for the Chargers overall, who fall to 14-5 on the season with a 6-1 NE-10 mark. The match also put the first blemish on the New Haven's 94-0 all-time mark in NE-10 regular season matches. Bentley improves to 12-7 with a 7-2 conference tally after taking the contest by set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 22-25 and 16-14.

Margo Meteyer (Madison, Wis./Madison West) led the Chargers offensively with 15 kills. She rounded out her eighth double-double of the fall with 23 digs. Reigning NE-10 Player of the Week
Kristen Lee (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) also had a double-double – her sixth of 2014 – with 12 kills and 18 digs. The third double-double for New Haven came from setter
Kaulana Ane (Paia, Hawai'i/Kamehameha), who dished out 39 assists and picked up 22 digs.
Also helping guide the offense was
Kristy Atufunwa (Denver, Colo./Denver East) with 12 kills. Ane added eight finishers from the setter spot, and
Hayley Wilson (Denver, Colo./Overland) posted three kills.
Meghan Kennelly (Detroit, Mich./Eisenhower) had two kills from the Chargers' bench, while
Lexis Peterson (Windsor, N.Y./Windsor Central) and
Annika Hacker (Bayreuth, Germany/Littleton (Colo.)) notched one apiece. The Blue and Gold hit a collective .142 for the match.

Defensively, libero
Kea-Marie Olaso (Kailua, Hawai'i/Le Jardin Academy) had a team-leading 32 digs. In addition to the back-row contributions from Meteyer, Ane and Lee, Hacker also reached double figures with 12 digs. At the net, Atufunwa had a hand in four of the Chargers' eight team blocks. Wilson, Ane and Peterson all got a piece of three New Haven send-backs.

Meteyer scored from behind the service line with three aces, while Olaso and Hacker dropped in a pair of winners and Lee landed one.

Bentley's Jaci Buscher led all players with 22 kills in the match. Alex Tator distributed 57 assists, and libero Lauren Colasanti had a match-best 33 digs.

The Chargers continue Northeast-10 Conference play this Tuesday, Oct. 21 with a 7 p.m. visit to Pace. Action returns to Charger Gymnasium for a non-conference clash with Mercy on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
