PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The University of New Haven women's volleyball team swept Northeast-10 Conference foe Pace on Tuesday evening in Pleasantville. The win was the program-record 577th victory in the career of Head Coach Robin Salters '91.
Â
Salters, who owns a career mark of 577-160 (.783), surpasses the win total of her former coach and the program's founder, Deborah Chin. Chin coached New Haven to a 576-178 record from 1976-1993 and is the current Associate Vice President, Director of Athletics and Recreation at the University.
Â
Salters succeeded Chin in 1994 as the second head coach in program history and is now in the midst of her 21st season on the sidelines. She has led New Haven women's volleyball to 18 NCAA postseason appearances and eight NCAA regional titles.
Â
When Salters earned her 500th career win on Oct. 29, 2011, New Haven became the first NCAA Division II program to boast a pair of 500-win coaches in its history.
