NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The University of New Haven women's volleyball team ran its winning streak to 10 matches on Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 sweep at Merrimack.
Kristy Atufunwa (Denver, Colo./Denver East) had a match-high 11 kills in the rematch of last fall's Northeast-10 Championship Match.

With their 10th consecutive victory, the Chargers improve to 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the NE-10. Merrimack drops to 8-3 on the season with a 2-1 conference tally. New Haven took the match by set scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-18.

In addition to 11 kills – which came on .455 hitting – Atufunwa had a match-best six blocks.
Margo Meteyer (Madison, Wis./Madison West) and
Kristen Lee (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) each posted a double-double for New Haven with identical statlines of 10 kills and 11 digs. Meteyer hit .350 and Lee posted a .471 hitting percentage as the Chargers combined for a sizzling .323 hitting percentage.

Hayley Wilson (Denver, Colo./Overland) added six kills for the Blue and Gold, and
Lexis Peterson (Windsor, N.Y./Windsor Central) had three.
Annika Hacker (Bayreuth, Germany/Littleton (Colo.)) landed one kill, and
Kaulana Ane (Paia, Hawai'i/Kamehameha) had four from the setter position to go along with 35 assists.

Defensively, Lee and Meteyer led the back row with their 11 digs apiece. Hacker picked up five digs, while Ane and
Kea-Marie Olaso (Kailua, Hawai'i/Le Jardin Academy) each had four digs. At the net, Atufunwa was a part of six of New Haven's seven team blocks, including three solo send backs.

Five Chargers each landed one service ace in the match – Hacker, Lee, Meteyer, Olaso and
Devin Smith (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush).

Stephanie Sheehan led the Merrimack offense with seven kills. The Warriors collectively hit .021 in the contest. Tara Stuhr doled out 22 assists for the hosts, and Allison Cote had a team-leading eight digs.

The Chargers will take a break from Northeast-10 action this week, returning to Charger Gymnasium to host defending East Region Champion LIU Post on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. The Blue and Gold will then visit NYIT before resuming conference action at Le Moyne on Saturday, Oct. 11.
