OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The University of New Haven women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 sweep on Thursday evening at the New York Institute of Technology in non-conference, East Region action.
Kristen Lee (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) had a match-high 12 kills in the Chargers' 12
th consecutive victory.

With the win, New Haven improves to 12-4 on the season. NYIT falls to 8-11. The Chargers took the match by set scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-23.

In addition to Lee's dozen kills,
Kristy Atufunwa (Denver, Colo./Denver East) had 10 finishers on .400 hitting (10-2-20).
Margo Meteyer (Madison, Wis./Madison West) neared a double-double with nine kills in addition to 10 digs, and
Kaulana Ane (Paia, Hawai'i/Kamehameha) had four kills from the libero spot. Rounding out the offense were
Lexis Peterson (Windsor, N.Y./Windsor Central) and
Damianis Eusebio (Miramar, Fla./University School) with two kills apiece and one from
Hayley Wilson (Denver, Colo./Overland).

Ane ran the offense and dished out 29 assists. The Chargers hit .216 in the three-set contest.

In the back row,
Kea-Marie Olaso (Kailua, Hawai'i/Le Jardin Academy) led all players with 21 digs. Meteyer had 10 digs, Lee had eight and Ane posted seven to supplement the effort. At the net, Atufunwa paced the Chargers with three blocks – including a solo send-back. Wilson had two blocks and Peterson notched one.

Olaso landed three of the Chargers' six service aces. The New Haven libero dropped them in consecutively during the run that helped put the second set away. Ane, Lee and
Annika Hacker (Bayreuth, Germany/Littleton (Colo.)) each contributed an ace as well.

NYIT was led by nine kills apiece for Emily Mankowski and Tina Stefanovic. Allison Fowler doled out 23 assists, while Taylor Pulley and Becky Syers shared the team high of 13 digs.

The Chargers return to Northeast-10 Conference play this weekend. New Haven treks to Le Moyne on Saturday, Oct. 11 for an 11 a.m. contest prior to a two-match homestand featuring visits from Saint Rose on Wednesday, Oct. 15 and Bentley on Saturday, Oct. 18.
