BOX SCORE SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The University of New Haven softball team fell 5-4 in a game which was resumed in the top of the fifth inning, while rebounding with a 10-1 victory at American International College Thursday afternoon.
The Chargers move to 17-5 on the season and 9-3 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Yellow Jackets now stand at 4-13 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

In the final game of the three-game series,
Lindsey Couturier (Dighton, Mass./Dighton Rehoboth Regional) led the team with three RBI, three hits and a run scored.
Julie Devlin (Baldwin, N.Y./Northwood School) went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored.
Gilly Childs (Los Angeles, Calif./Notre Dame Academy) also drove in a pair of runs, while
Jess Spivey (Holland, Pa./Council Rock) scored a pair.
In the circle,
Nicole King (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) earned her 10th win of the season with the complete game three-hitter. She gave up just one earned run and struck out 11 batters.
New Haven fell behind after the first inning as AIC opened the bottom half of inning one with a solo homerun. It took the Chargers two more innings to come alive as they opened up in the top of the third with five runs off three hits. Couturier managed a two-out, three-RBI homerun which scored both
Brandy Dianno (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) and Spivey to give the Chargers a 3-1 lead. Fisher followed with a walk and then Devlin hammered a two-RBI homerun to give UNH a 5-1 lead midway through the third.
A scoreless fourth led to the top of the fifth when the Chargers added another two runs off four hits. UNH left the bases loaded, but Childs two-RBI single to center field put the Chargers in a commanding 7-1 lead.
King held the Yellow Jackets to four base runners in the final three inning, including three in the sixth, before shutting the down in the bottom of the seventh.
The Charger bats added one more in the top of the sixth and two more in the top of the seventh to earn the nine-run victory.
