Brendan O'Reilly (Devon, Pa./Conestoga),
Robert Petrillo (Branford, Conn./Branford) and
Tom Walraven (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) each had two hits, but the University of New Haven baseball team fell 3-2 to The College of Saint Rose in a Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division contest on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Saint Rose improves to 7-17 overall, is 4-8 in the NE-10 and improves to 4-6 in the Southwest Division. New Haven is now 9-11 with a 5-7 conference mark and is 5-5 in divisional play.

Trailing 1-0 in the third,
Zach Collett (Westbrook, Maine/Westbrook) singled and moved to second on a wild pitch. After a walk by
TJ Riccio (Port Jeff Station, N.Y./Comsewogue), Petrillo singled to bring home Collett, tying the game at 1-1.
Kyle Cullen (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) stood in next and doubled to score Riccio for a 2-1 Chargers lead.

New Haven would hold the lead until the sixth when the Golden Knights scored to tie the game at 2-2. Saint Rose plated one more run in the eighth to cap the scoring in the contest.

Connor Moriarty (Branford, Conn./Branford) pitched well for the Chargers, going four innings, allowing three hits and one run.

New Haven is next in action on Wednesday, April 22 when it hosts Southern Connecticut State at 3:30 p.m. at Frank Vieira Field.Â
