WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven women's volleyball team completed its second match in less than 24 hours on Saturday afternoon, being upended 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-19) by the Post Eagles. The Chargers are now 3-3 on the season and are in action next on Saturday, Sept. 17 when they open their NE-10 schedule at Assumption at 12:00 p.m.
HIGHLIGHTS
·        New Haven won the first set 25-20 behind four kills from Kristine Rios (Miami, Fla./Coral Reef) and three each from Mallory Nowicki (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northview) and Nicole Morales (Moca, Puerto Rico/Carib Christian). The Chargers hit .278 for the set.Â
·        Nowicki led New Haven with a .304 hitting percentage in 23 chances. She had eight kills and two blocks in the match.Â
·        Rios had her second straight double-double with 21 assists and 11 digs.Â
·        Briana Mirmina had 22 digs to lead New Haven.
