How it Happened
The Chargers (1-0) made their season debut on the hardwood hanging onto their lead clutched in the first two minutes of action. They closed the night building a 31-point gap between them and the Dolphins, and are now 35-25 in season-opening events.

At the half, the Dolphins deficit crept up to single digits, but an offensive spark on the floor in the second half sealed the deal on this victory. Efforts from Thomas and Lane initiated a 11-0 run, finished off by a three-point shot downtown from Smith Jr.

Thomas dubbed a career-high 31 points in 31 minutes on the floor, paired with 10 boards to grab his third career double-double. He tallied four baskets from outside the arc and made 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.

CSI lost possession 16 times which allowed 24 of New Haven's 81 points to result off of turnovers.

New Haven's defense held the Dolphins scoreless for the final three minutes and 50 seconds, locking in their first victory since the triple-overtime thriller in NE10 Semifinals, 618 days ago.
