How it Happened
For the third consecutive time, the New Haven men's basketball team (3-0) has defeated their opponent by at least 20 points. In the CSI Tip Off Tournament last weekend, New Haven clenched a 31-point win against the host school followed by a 49-point triumph against the new Division II school, D'Youville. At Molloy Wednesday evening, the Chargers extended their win streak to three by adding a 80-59 victory to their win column.

New Haven started their season off hot not too far back. In the 2018-19 season Hotaling and the team went 5-0 their first five games, with the first three being victories of at least 20 points - that sounds familiar.

At the end of the first half, the team led 36-21 while shooting 12-of-28 from the field. Five of the total six three-pointers from New Haven came in the first twenty minutes of action. Nick Crocker (East Falmouth, M.A./Falmouth High School), Antonio Lopez (Medford, N.Y./St. Anthony's), Sean Braithwaite (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches), Victor Olawoye (Elmont, N.Y. /Elmont Memorial High School ), and Davontrey Thomas (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) each made a basket from behind the arc before heading in the locker room at halftime.

After the break, the Blue and Gold started a 21-5 run, ending on Sean Braithwaite's (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches) fourth three-pointer of the night. Braithwaite took four shots from three-point territory making every one of them. This run resulted in a 29-point lead leaving the scoreboard to read 69-40 with 7:24 left.

Nick Crocker (East Falmouth, M.A./Falmouth High School) upped his career-high of six points by one. In his 17 minutes of action Crocker had perfect percentages from the field, which featured one shot from outside the arc. On the defensive end Crocker grabbed eight rebounds, his final board finished the night finalizing a score of 81-59.
