How it Happened
After 10 consecutive days without competition on the hardwood, New Haven suffered a 77-48 fall to the Pace Setters.
In the first half alone, New Haven only went 5-of-21 from the floor. Derrick Rowland (Cohoes, N.Y./Green Tech) was productive from behind the arc in the first half making 3-of-9 attempts from three-point range. He ended the night holding the team-high of 16 points.
Rebounding was the worst it has been all season. The Chargers were outnumbered 39-19, and only seven boards were tallied in the second half.Â
With 15 turnovers committed by the Blue and Gold, the Setters were able to turn these mishaps into an additional 17 points.Â
New Haven did not take the lead once in this trip. After being down 38-18 at the half, the Chargers cut their 18-point deficit to seven with 14:09 left, sealed by Rowland's final three of the night.Â
Just before Victor Olawoye (Elmont, N.Y. /Elmont Memorial High School ) made his way through the paint for a layup to end the game 77-48, the Chargers were the furthest they were from Pace the entire game at 31 points.Â
