MANSFIELD, Mass. – Junior thrower Neva Bostic (Saint Johnsbury, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy) after breaking the school record in South Carolina and winning at Wesleyan with a throw of 37.93m breaking her own record again, Bostic earned herself Field Rookie of the Week honors announced by the Northeast 10.
After an opening throw of 34.99m, Bostic followed that with a finals qualifying throw of 36.19m to move her into the finals flight of the event. Bostic in the finals would wait until her final throw to best her second throw marking her final throw at 37.93m which would go on to finish Bostic in first in the meet with second place being marked nearly four meters shorter than her final throw.
That win comes after breaking the school record for her first time while competing in South Carolina throwing 35.89m breaking her record that had been set since the 2021 New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Bostic and the women's track and field team return to competition next week traveling to New Jersey to compete at The College of New Jersey Invitational meet on Saturday April 2nd ahead of a month where the team will compete every weekend before Conference Championships which will take place at the start of May.
