FULL NE10 ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – A pair of infielders closed out the 2022 campaign with the first postseason honors of the year, each earning a spot on Northeast-10 All-Conference Teams. Shortstop Mya Case (Syracuse, N.Y/West Genessee) earned a spot on the Second Team, while second baseman Nahtali Simpson (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) garnered a spot on the Third Team.
Case closed out the season as the Chargers leader at the plate, finishing the year with a .318 batting average and a team-best 41 hits which all came out of the leadoff spot in the lineup. Among her 41 hits were 11 for extra bases, four doubles and a team and career-best seven home runs as she drove in 16 runs and scored a team-high 23 times. In addition, she registered 12 walks and stole a pair of bases, while adding 65 putouts and 106 assists.
Simpson finished two spots behind her, closing out the season with a.277 average, while finishing second on the team with 28 hits, including eight for extra bases on five doubles and three home runs. She also drove in a team-best 18 runs and scored 22 times while leading the team with 19 walks and finishing with the lowest number of strikeouts among the starting lineup with 11. She also finished 2-for-2 on the base paths and added 61 putouts and 62 assists.
Case, Simpson and the Chargers closed out the 2021-22 season with a 17-23 overall record and an 11-15 mark in the Northeast-10.
