HUDSON, N.H. – For just the second time in program history the University of New Haven women's golf team took to the links this weekend, competing in the Franklin Pierce University Women's Fall Invitational, finishing the two-day event in eighth place overall.
Leading the Chargers for the second time this season was freshman Danielle Jastrab (Camino, Calif./Eldorado) who finished the 36-hole event t-38th overall with a combined score of 178. Overall, Jastrab shaved 22 strokes off of her score from the opening event two weeks ago, while she improved her second round this weekend at the Green Meadow Golf Club by four strokes over round one.
Graduate student Hannah Catallo-Stooks (/) also saw marked improvement over her first collegiate event two weeks ago, shaving 53 strokes off of her previous score to finish the two-round event with a 188. She also shaved off four strokes from her first-round score of 96 to finish with a 92 on day two.
Freshman Emily Florin (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) (51st, 214), sophomore Mackenzie Gardner (/) (54th, 240) and sophomore Abigail Helper (55th, 251) rounded out the Chargers five a the FPU Invitational.
The women's golf team will return to the course in two just under two weeks when the travel to Gilderland, N.Y. for the Saint Rose Fall Invitational which is scheduled for October 7-8.
