Charger Duo Collects NE10 Academic All-Conference Honors

FULL NORTHEAST-10 ALL-ACADEMIC RELEASE

MANSFIELD, Mass. –
After wrapping up their winter seasons last month, a pair of Chargers picked up another accolade to add to their shelves with graduate guard Camryn DeBose (Wellington, Fla./Wellington Community) from women's basketball and graduate jumper Kristen Washington (New Haven, Conn./James Hillhouse) from women's track & field earning Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors as announced by the league office.

A bronze medalist at the NE10 Indoor Championships in both the triple and long jump, Washington was one of 15 student-athletes from across the NE10 to earn All-Conference honors for women's track & field. Her 5.67-meter performance in the high jump at the NE10 championships placed her fourth in the East Region, while she was also fourth in the region in the triple jump, with both of her top performances during the indoor season hitting an NCAA provisional mark.

In addition to her all-conference and academic all-conference honors, Washington was also named USTFCCCA All-Region in both the long and triple jump. Pursuing a Master of Public Health with a cumulative GPA of 3.97, Washington earned a Bachelor of Science in health science in January 2022.

An NE10 All-Conference and All-Defensive selection, Debose led the Chargers and was fifth in the conference with her 15.8 points per game average which came on a team-best 40.6% three-point shooting effort, which was also fourth best in the conference and 27th best in all of NCAA DII. In addition to her scoring, Debose led the team with 43 steals, was second with 63 assists and third with an average of 4.3 rebounds per game.

Overall, she finished 20 games scoring in double digits and opened up the season with a 30-point performance against Georgian Court University. Among the highlights on the year for Debose was joining the elite 1,000-point club, doing so in an early December home win over Franklin Pierce. With a near perfect cumulative GPA (3.95), Debose earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in May of 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling.
