Pleasantville, N.Y- The motto this weekend? Swing for the fences. New Haven clinches the series win against the Pace Setters after sending five homeruns over the fence in game one, and good pitching from the Chargers bullpen taking home game two.
Game 1- New Haven 14, Pace 1Â
Starting off the game, the Chargers looked to Tyler Sausville (Schenectady, N.Y./Colonie Central) on the mound. Throughout the season thus far, Sausville is 2-2, with a 2.73 era, making him a prominent starter to lead the Chargers to victory. Sausville brought the Chargers through five innings, without allowing Pace to get on the board, shooting for a no-hitter that would be broken up with one hit late in the game.
The Chargers opened up the scoring in the second inning, when leadoff Robert Taylor (Wolcott, Conn./The Gunnery) would go for the long ball. Josh Lester (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) would walk, finding himself making his way around the bases, stealing home on a wild pitch, to give the Chargers a 2-0 lead at the start.
Robert Taylor (Wolcott, Conn./The Gunnery) was an RBI-machine this afternoon. After hitting a solo homer for his at bat of the game, he found himself back at the plate to do it again, this time adding three runs to the Chargers lead. Back-to-back homeruns for Robert Taylor (Wolcott, Conn./The Gunnery) was just the start for New Haven's offense.
The bats were giving today, as the Chargers entered the fifth inning, starting it off with a walk from Cole Maucere (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) to put a runner on first. A single from Noah Budzik (Cromwell, Conn./Cromwell) would send Maucere to second, and a homerun to left field from Andrew Bianco (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) would push the Chargers up 8-0.
A big six run inning for the Chargers, solidified their lead. A leadoff single from Kenneth Franquiz (Bellmore. N.Y./Mepham) would get things going for New Haven, followed by a single from Noah Budzik (Cromwell, Conn./Cromwell). For the second time today, Andrew Bianco (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) would step up to the plate with runners on base and hit one over the fence. But the momentum did not stop there, after a strikeout for the first out, Andrew Cain (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) stepped up to the plate and hit a single homerun, to push the lead to 12.
The last runs would come from a homerun from Kenny Hirschfeld (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial), his first collegiate hit and first collegiate homerun all in one.
Tyler Sausville (Schenectady, N.Y./Colonie Central) would get the win for the Chargers, allowing one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Michael Gatti (East Norwich, N.Y./Oyster Bay) and Kevin McNiff (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) entered the game out of the bullpen to close out the game in relief.
The Chargers totaled 17 hits on the game, six of those being homeruns. Noah Budzik (Cromwell, Conn./Cromwell) went four-for-four at the plate to lead New Haven in hits. Six Chargers managed multiple hits on the afternoon, Andrew Bianco (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) leading the way with six RBI's.

Game 2- New Haven 4, Pace 3
After coming off a high-scoring win, the Chargers looked to Randy Ramnarace (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) to bring home the series in the second game. Ramnarace sat down the side in order for the first two innings.
Pace would strike first, collecting their first run in the bottom of the third inning, but the Chargers would answer right back. At the top of the fourth, after a leadoff ground out, Owen Pincince (North Haven, Conn./North Haven) found himself a single to right field to start it off for New Haven. Robert Taylor (Wolcott, Conn./The Gunnery) would follow with a double, giving the Chargers two baserunners, Josh Lester (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) would grab the RBI for the Chargers on a groundout sending Pincince home.
With bases loaded, the Chargers would find themselves another run, boosting them to  a 2-1 lead when Noah Budzik (Cromwell, Conn./Cromwell) forced a walk to send Taylor home. The game would remain stagnant until the fifth inning. Three walks would start the inning for the Chargers, and two wild pitches would give New Haven the ability to grab two more runs, the last on the afternoon.
Pace would find their way back in the game, finding two more runs to bring the score to 4-3, with then game on the line the Chargers defense was able to shut the Setters down and grab the win.
Randy Ramnarace (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) was credited with the victory for New Haven. The righty allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out six. Liam Carroll (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) and Drew Silverman (Commack, N.Y./Commack) entered the game out of the bullpen and helped close out the game in relief. Silverman recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for the Chargers, his fourth of the season.
New Haven tallied five hits, coming from five different players. Tyler Wells (Danville, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy) leading the Chargers in game two with one hit and two RBIs. Matthew McIntire, Owen Pincince (North Haven, Conn./North Haven), Josh Lester (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague), and Robert Taylor (Wolcott, Conn./The Gunnery) all found themselves a hit in the game as well.
