FULL NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE RELEASE

MANSFIELD, Mass. –
Just one day after being named one of 10 players on the Northeast-10 Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, graduate student guard Camryn DeBose (Wellington, Fla./Wellington Community) added one more award, this time the conference's pinnacle honor for her sport as she was named the NE10's Sports Excellence honoree for women's basketball.

One of seven awards representing the NE10's 2022-23 winter sports, the women's basketball Sport Excellence Award is presented to a student-athlete who has started at least half, or played in two-thirds, of all contests while making significant contributions and maintaining a minimum 3.3 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

The Wellington, Fla. native earned her undergraduate degree in psychology in May of 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling.

The list of accolades DeBose adds this most recent distinction to includes being tabbed All-Conference and All-Defensive following a regular season that concluded with the Chargers earning a home game in the NE10 Championship as the fifth seed with a 12-8 conference record.

Overall, DeBose led the Chargers and was fifth in the conference with her 15.8 points per game average which came on a team-best 40.6% three-point shooting effort, which was also fourth best in the conference and 27th best in all of NCAA DII. In addition to her scoring, DeBose led the team with 43 steals, was second with 63 assists and third with an average of 4.3 rebounds per game.

Overall, she finished 20 games scoring in double digits and opened up the season with a 30-point performance against Georgian Court University. Among the highlights on the year for DeBose was joining the elite 1,000-point club, doing so in an early December home win over Franklin Pierce.

DeBose closes out her career in West Haven 15th all-time in scoring, while she is also among the top-10 in program history in three-point field goals made (165, second) and three-point field goal percentage (35.6, third).
