WEST HAVEN, Conn. –
New Haven women's track and field assistant coach Alexandria Earl-Givan has been selected to join the coaching staff for the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) U23 Championships scheduled for July 21-13 in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Givan, who will serve as the assistant coach for throws under women's head coach Caryl Smith-Gilbert, completed her 16th season as an assistant coach for the Chargers, primarily working with the throwers. Under her leadership, the Chargers throwers have garnered a number of All-Conference honors, highlighted most recently by Michael Kandolin who qualified for the NCAA Championships in the hammer throw in 2019.

A former All-American and US National Team member as Southern Connecticut State University, Givan graduated in 1994 after participating in the US Olympic Trials in 1992 and medaled. Three years later, she medaled in the hammer throw at the 1995 Pan-American Games.
