BURLINGTON, Mass. – Following up an 8-2 regular season, a second-straight Northeast-10 Conference Championship and a fourth-straight berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs, University of New Haven head football coach Chris Pincince was named the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Division II/III Coach of the Year.
The regional coach of the year honor award was presented on Monday, December 16 at the Gridiron Club's annual Bob Whelan College Football Awards Night held at the Burlington Marriott. The 2024 Coach of the Year honor from the Gridiron Club is the third regional accolade of his career, adding this to New England Football Writer's Coach of the Year distinction following the 2018 and 2021 campaigns.
Following an opening round loss to national quarterfinalist Slippery Rock in the opening round of the Division II playoffs, New Haven wrapped up its 2024 campaign with an 8-3 overall record, while with its berth in the national tournament, New Haven becoming just one of five teams, and the only private school, to earn a spot in the playoffs in each of the last four seasons.
