FULL RESULTS

NEW HAVEN, Conn. –
For the first time of the 2024-25 season, the University of New Haven Women's Track and Field team competed, making the short drive to Yale University, where they competed at the Yale Season Opener.

Jada Kamtha (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Wolmer's Trust High School for Girls) kicked off the meet running the second fastest time of the 60m hurdles prelims, and running a personal best time of 8.86 to qualify her for the finals. In the finals, Kamtha shaved .01 off her time and ran yet another personal best time and finished second overall in the event with a time of 8.85. Kamtha would add to her day with a win in the sandpit as she jumped a winning mark of 5.97m.

Angellina Schilling finished second overall in the 800m with a time of 2:26.65.

Gabrielle Teel (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) took home the win in the triple jump as she jumped her winning mark on her second jump of the afternoon sealing her victory.

With the season underway and the Chargers already hitting provisional marks, New Haven will look to keep the momentum going as they return to the track next week at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge on December 13, and 14.  All updates, post meet recaps, and postseason news for the team will be available at Newhavenchargers.com.
