CHICAGO, Ill. – New Haven Volleyball faced the Chicago State Cougars in the second match of the double-header on Saturday afternoon, where it lost 3-1.
The Chargers were looking to take home the second win, but the Cougars came out hot, winning the first and second set. New Haven tried to come back, winning the third set 25-23, but were not able to pull through in the fourth set. The Chargers still had big performances from
Lauren MacKellar (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Northville), who had 14 kills and four blocks,
Kassadi Avent (Woolwich, NJ), who had seven kills and six digs, and
Josie Foster (Kurwongbah, Australia) who had five kills and two blocks. Setter
Juli De Acharan (Sevilla, Spain/IES Nestor Almendros) had 21 assists, and
Payton Malinoski (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) had two service aces and 15 digs.
New Haven is heading to Long Island on Wednesday, Oct. 29
th to face the LIU Sharks. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
