BROOKLYN, N.Y. – New Haven Volleyball took a road trip on Wednesday night to face the LIU Sharks, where it fell 3-0.
The Chargers and the Sharks battled it out in the tight match, but LIU was able to win three straight sets over New Haven. The score was tied a total of 19 times and there were seven lead changes.
Kassadi Avent (Woolwich, NJ) led the Chargers with 11 kills.
Juli De Acharan (Sevilla, Spain/IES Nestor Almendros) had 20 assists, seven digs, and a service ace.
Josie Foster (Kurwongbah, Australia) and
Victoria Trunkl (Sao Jose Dos Campos, Sau Paulo, Brazil) also contributed an ace.
Naliah Grannell (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) and Foster both had four blocks apiece. The Chargers back row was led by
Payton Malinoski (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) with 14 digs.
New Haven is back at home on Friday, Oct. 31st, with its first match against the Le Moyne College Dolphins. Match is set to start at 6:00 p.m.
