WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Softball Head Coach Kelly Paterson announced her team's schedule on Friday afternoon. The Blue & Gold will play 47 games in its inaugural Division I campaign, featuring opponents from up and down the East Coast.
New Haven begins the 2026 season with a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 27, against North Dakota State University and Lafayette College at a neutral site. Saturday will also bring a doubleheader with the Blue & Gold, once again seeing NDSU, and then it matches up against Gardner-Webb. Opening weekend closes with a Sunday morning showdown with Gardner-Webb at 11:30 a.m.
The Chargers then return home for a weekend of competition against Yale University and Boston University on Mar. 7-8, before hosting Manhattan University in a midweek doubleheader on March 11.
NEC action begins on Saturday, Mar. 14, with the Chargers hosting Saint Francis University in a doubleheader at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., followed by a single contest on Sunday, Mar. 15, at noon. The slate continues with a Mar. 18 doubleheader against Quinnipiac University, then a pair of games at Le Moyne College on March 21-22.
A midweek non-conference matchup with the University of Connecticut is scheduled for Mar. 24, followed by a road contest at Fairfield University on Mar. 25. The month closes with a doubleheader against Wagner College on Mar. 28 and a single game on Mar. 29.
The Chargers begin Apr. with a midweek matchup against Fairfield University on Apr. 1 at 3:00 p.m. and then square off with Long Island University in a Saturday doubleheader (Apr. 3) and a single game on Apr. 4.
Midweek conference games continue with two contests against Fairleigh Dickinson University on Apr. 7–8. The weekend of Apr. 11-12 brings a series with Central Connecticut State University.
The team returns to non-conference action with a Tuesday game at the University of Rhode Island on April 14, then hosts Yale University on April 15.
The final stretch of the season features a pair of games against Mercyhurst University on Apr. 18-19, followed by a two-game series with Stonehill College on Apr. 25–26. Wednesday, Apr. 29, marks the regular season finale, as the Chargers host College of the Holy Cross in a doubleheader with first pitch at 2:30 p.m.
